Hi,

Yesterday i was notified that there was an update for Quadrant so i downloaded it via Android Market. Ran the Quadrant benchmark and i got low 500's, (471, 469, 457). So i killed all running apps and cleared the memory and started Quadrant and for the next 3 runs i got 766! I have snap shots of the screen with the score, not sure how i can add images on this post.

Tried again today and i got between 757 - 766 so it wasn't some kind of anomaly. Is there something different about the new Quadrant Benchmark?

Still 766 on the Streak running stock Android 1.6, pretty impressive i must say  :)

If you could let me know how to add images, i will upload some snap shots. What do you think regarding the improvement?

best regards,

I can't believe that the Quadrant author will change the app to affect the result - that would defeat the purpose of having benchmark apps in the first place.
The latest release note says more devices recognized and that sounds more reasonable.

I think Streak should be capable of those numbers.

As for the images, there's two ways - you can upload your image to some other place and link it using the little "photo button" just above this text box. Alternatively you can also upload it as an attachment - the button is found below this text box.

I'll update the result to 766 mean while.  ;)

Hi,
Yeah, i was just wondering if Quadrant had a revised means of testing the performance  ;) hence the increased improvement  :) Was just surprised in the increased performance...guess not huh

The snapshots are in my hard drive at work but i just re-ran the Quadrant benchmark and here are the result snapshots

Slightly different huh  :D

Do you know how to capture your phone screen? It's easier this way, plus the screen capture itself is much smaller.

Is it possible to get a screen capture without connecting the phone to a pc for the Streak? I have seen screen capture apps but they require the device to be rooted. I am still on Android 1.6 so not sure how i can do a screen capture, any advice would be greatly appreciated  :)

Anyway here are two more snaps (using caveman technique  :D )

regards,

Try to look for an app called "ShootMe" in the Android Market. It allows you to capture the screen by shaking your phone.   Then you can transfer them later on to your PC just like any other photos you may have captured using the camera.

Hi,
Wow, thanks for updating, that was pretty fast  :)

Will have a look at "ShootMe", appreciate the tip, thanks!

Here i was feeling all smug about scoring 778 on the Streak and then something i read this evening burst my bubble...

http://forum.xda-dev...ad.php?t=821514

Apparently it does 3196 on Quadrant with 1.6 GHz OC.

interesting though i might say, but power is nothing without control right  ;)

Oh well, will wait for the 2.2 update...though i don't think it's going to even do low 2000... but still...love the 5" on the Streak, and it's snappy enough for me  :D

Yeah, speed isn't everything. I also like large screens on my phone. I am thinking about trying out the Streak as well.  ;)
