This time, we have LG Optimus 3D benchmark results to reveal. If you recall, LG Optimus 3D features Texas Instrument's latest dual-core processor - OMAP4430 (read more about this processor here), clocked at 1GHz. This processor is based on ARM's Cortex A9 design, just like NVIDIA's Tegra 2, but it differentiates itself from Tegra 2 by choosing the familiar Power GSX540 GPU (also found in Samsung's Hummingbird processor). So how should this processor perform in theory? Its Productivity score should be very similar to those produced by Tegra 2 devices while Games score should be very similar to Samsung's Hummingbird based devices, which in turn, is close to the scores produced by Tegra 2 based devices. In other words, Optimus 3D should produce numbers very similar to Tegra 2 based devices.

Lets find out if this is the case...

Have a look at this chart from Smartbench 2011:

..........
LG Optimus 3D has managed to score:

Productivity Index score: 2729
Games Index score: 2822

(These scores were average of 6 tests)

How does this device compare to other devices?

As you can see, Texas Instrument's latest processor is rather competitive to NVIDIA's Tegra 2 based devices! Was this surprising? Not really. Both OMAP4430 and Tegra 2 are based on dual-core ARM Cortex A9 design, both are clocked at 1GHz and although the origin are totally independent, both Tegra 2 GPU and Power GSX540 are already proven to be roughly equal. Perhaps the Games Index score turned out to be a bit higher than expected as 2822 is probably the highest score achieved by any stock 1GHz Hummingbird based devices so far.

Conclusion:

LG Optimus 3D, using Texas Instrument's dual-core OMAP4430 processor, produces numbers that are comparable (perhaps just a bit better) to those produced by LG Optimus 2X and Motorola Atrix which uses NVIDIA Tegra 2 processors. This should not surprise you.
